Saray Tonle, a Community-Based Eco-Tourism (CBET) project in Prek Toal Floating Village aims to provide poor families with sustainable livelihood improvement that does not impact on natural resources. The villagers are also initiated and facilitated by OSMOSE to create the community based services which is now entirely managed and organized by the villagers themselves. The Water hyacinth Handicraft Workshop offers employment to around thirty women mainly head of households from poor families generate significant household revenue from the project. This workshop can also fill orders notably custom-made mats for hotels, guesthouses, restaurants and private owners in Cambodia or for export. Any profit made from the purchase of this product will be re-invested into Saray Tonle CBET project for its sustainability in the future.
